Week 4 of Orientation

Week four down! Only 9 days until flag day, but who’s counting..

Our class made a debut in the State Magazine. Check out the link to see the 211th generalist and 165th specialist class swearing in photo. Our training after these initial 6 weeks is finally coming into focus, and we have some concrete dates and ideas of what will be next. We are likely heading to post sometime in the end of September- so a bit sooner than we had originally anticipated. At some point we will have emergency training. Today news did a short segment on this training that is pretty fascinating and CBS news has one also, check them out if you want to get an idea of what this training entails.

The highlight of this entire process has really been the people that I have met in orientation. I’ve managed to forge a pretty tight bond with my fellow medical professionals and we are doing weekly dinners which help to decompress from the week.

This weekend my family and I took a long stroll around the Logan circle area of DC and walked all the way down the vibrant 14th street. In the coming weeks my sister and then mom will be visiting so we are really looking forward to having some live in childcare for a bit so we can get out in the evening’s more. DC has so much to offer and we are soaking it all in- it’s truly an awesome city.

Next up: Flag day!
